- To encourage the opening of rural areas for the transportation of agricultural produce and other services.
- To enhance human resource development and gender sensitivity in the transport sector in line with international best practices.
- To implement a sect oral and workplace policy on HIV/AIDS and other diseases for the transport sector.
- To create an enabling environment that is customer sensitive for effective conduct of government business in line with global best practices.
